There's a big difference. All of our Cutting Edge flooring solutions are non-porous, which is important for repairing and protecting concrete surfaces—not just covering them up to hide problems.
Epoxy stone products claim that you need to leave concrete unprotected so it can "breathe." But that's not true. Epoxy stones are porous and allow contaminants to seep right through. Those contaminants soak into the concrete and can ruin the floor. They damage the strength of the concrete, corrode the steel reinforcement that holds the concrete together, and build up mold and harmful bacteria. Once that happens, you can't properly clean then concrete surface.
Epoxy stone products do not seal concrete surfaces. They do not repair cracks in concrete. They do not repair pitting and salt damage. Epoxy stone is not easy to clean, and it can eventually lead to further concrete failure.
For these reasons, Cutting Edge only offers non-porous products that truly repair, preserve, and enhance concrete floors. We use products that cannot be damaged by road salt, oil and gas spills, food products, sewer backups, and more. Our non-porous products give our clients peace of mind because they protect their concrete surfaces and they're easy to clean.
